This course provides coaches and athletic support staff with evidence-based tools to identify, prevent, and address low energy availability (LEA) and relative energy deficiency in sport (REDs) among adolescent female athletes. It emphasizes understanding puberty’s physiological changes, fostering a supportive environment, and promoting optimal health and performance.

The audience will learn how to:

  1. Define low energy availability (LEA) in young female athletes.
  2. Recognize indicators that warrant referral to a registered dietitian.
  3. Implement actionable strategies to support and empower adolescent female athletes.
