Meet Erica Capellino
Erica's bio...
Erica Capellino is a registered dietitian who specializes in sports, performance and longevity nutrition. She received a Master of Science in Nutrition, Healthspan and Longevity, Bachelor of Science in Human Biology with an emphasis in Applied Physiology and a Minor in Sports Media Studies from the University of Southern California. As a student athlete, Erica was team captain of the nationally-ranked Division 1 Women’s Track & Field and Cross Country teams. When not competing for her alma mater, Erica was a sports nutrition intern for the athletic department working with all of the varsity sports, managing the Fueling Station and promoting nutrition for both student and athlete lifestyles. Additionally, Erica was a product expert and dietitian at L-Nutra, Inc, providing healthcare professionals and patients with education on the research behind ProLon: The Fasting Mimicking & Enhancing Diet.
Upon graduating USC, Erica worked with the Los Angeles Rams as a Performance Nutrition Intern, implementing and expanding nutrition related sport science to enhance performance and recovery. Erica then became the first full-time Team Dietitian for the Los Angeles Chargers. By developing an athletic management system to gain a comprehensive athlete profile (consisting of body compositions, body mapping imagery, hydration status, genetic testing, patient history and risk, player position and goals, player load and volume data), she was able to create individualized nutrition plans using food as fuel to optimize athletic potential, performance and recovery. In ensuring nutrition consistency and integrity at home and on the road, Erica coordinated nutrition for international NFL games in London and Mexico City. On top of her experience in football, Erica worked as a dietitian with the United States Olympic Committee and Team USA, providing optimal training, recovery and nutrition environments nationally and internationally for both the men’s and women’s national volleyball teams. Growing up a dancer, Erica also has 15 years of experience in competitive performance and nutrition for dance having studied under artistic directors and choreographers with University of California, Santa Barbara, USC, Dance Peninsula Ballet and American Ballet Theater.
Erica is a co-founder and co-owner of Roblar Farmhouse, where all things are homegrown and homemade. By modeling its business and philosophies on the Bluezone Lifestyles, this team of business developers, culinary trained chef, registered dietitian, occupational therapist, behavioral analyst, and exercise specialists, focuses on living longer and better through a simple balance of good health habits and social engagement. Areas of emphasis include physical activity, life purpose, stress reduction, energy intake, plant-based foods, spirituality, family and social life.
With a love for the outside world, sports, health and wellness, Erica is passionate about promoting personalized longevity and heart on and off the field. By translating evidence based science into prolific actionable behaviors, she is committed to helping individuals and athletes find encouragement and succeed in the game of life. In her spare time, you can find Erica getting in an early morning workout, gardening, biking through vineyards and farmlands, hiking, swimming and surfing in the ocean, hitting the slopes on skis, and dancing.
