Vanessa Moreno, Ph.D., CSCS*D, USAWL1
Description:
This session explores the CO-FIVR-P model (Choice, Order, Frequency, Intensity, Volume, Rest, and Progression) and its role in optimizing resistance training. Attendees will learn how these variables inform the fundamental training principles of overload, variation, and specificity, and how they apply to a 4x4 program design. Strategies for tailoring workouts to power, strength, hypertrophy, or muscular endurance goals will also be examined.
The audience will learn how to:
- Identify key components of the CO-FIVR-P model and their impact on training outcomes.
- Apply the 4x4 program structure to address diverse training goals such as power, strength, hypertrophy, or endurance.
- Differentiate between single-set and multiple-set approaches within fundamental training principles.
- Construct a basic strength training workout using evidence-based methods for optimal safety and effectiveness.
