Knowing how to identify when an athlete is struggling with disordered eating and knowing what to do next can be challenging - but everyone who surrounds athletes has a role. This presentation will provide you with strategies on ways to identify, and what to do each step of the way, no matter your role.
The audience will learn how to:
- List strategies for screening and assessing the causes of low energy availability, including disordered eating and eating disorders.
- Identify risk factors for disordered eating and eating disorders, and develop protective mechanisms to create a healthy culture that supports high performance and fueling strategies.
- Understand and outline each staff member's role in identifying, treating, and referring athletes with disordered eating and eating disorders.
