This course explores how pro-resolving mediators (PRMs) derived from omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) influence the resolution of inflammation. Participants will gain insights into current research suggesting that supplementing with these mediators may offer distinct health benefits beyond the parent omega-3 fatty acids.
The audience will learn how to:
- Identify the major pro-resolving mediators (PRMs) derived from EPA and DHA.
- Understand how PRMs facilitate the resolution of inflammation.
- Determine if PRMs have an independent role as dietary supplements.
